1. Read the latency readout

Under the frame rate the game shows your connection’s round trip in green, yellow or red (turn it on or off with Show latency in Interface settings). It tells you whether the problem is your connection (latency) or your computer (frame rate).

2. High latency: switch to the Windows app

The developer’s own advice: the Windows app has much lower latency than the browser. At 150 ms or more the game reminds you to try it. See Windows download.

3. Low frame rate in the browser

  • Use a recent Chrome or Edge with hardware acceleration on.
  • Lower the browser resolution and turn off anti-aliasing in graphics settings.
  • Close other heavy tabs; the town with many players is the most demanding place.

4. Rubber-banding when the server is busy

When many players join at once, some can land on a slower fallback connection. Patch 0.12.1 fixed most cases. If movement feels floaty after a big login wave, reload the page (browser) or restart the app to reconnect.

5. Connection messages

Since patch 0.10 the game explains connection problems in plain words: the server can’t be reached, it’s restarting for an update, or the connection dropped. During an update, wait a minute and reconnect.

Further fixes (router, region, VPN): to be added once tested.

Why does Arena of Champions lag in my browser?

The browser version adds latency compared with the Windows app, and a busy server or a fallback connection makes it worse. Check the latency readout under the frame rate: yellow or red means your connection is the problem.

What ping is too high?

The game starts reminding browser players to try the Windows app more often once latency is 150 ms or more.
