The talent system
- 5 rows × 3 talents per spec, one pick per row.
- Rows 1 to 4 are passive: they change how your spells work (extra charges, shorter cooldowns, added effects).
- Row 5 teaches a spell, often a big cooldown such as Avatar for Arms Warriors. Those spells are listed on each spec page under Spells taught by talents.
- Talents are per spec, and so are your two utility picks.
- In the arena you can change talents and your bar until the gates open (Spells & Talents, N, or the button under the match clock). Your spec can’t change mid-match, and changing a talent there starts your hero over: buffs, forms, stealth, shields, totems and summons end, and health, resource and cooldowns reset.
Building for the bracket
There are no proven “best builds” yet: the game launched on 20 October 2026 and patches almost daily. Some general rules from WoW-style arena still apply:
- 1v1: you are alone, so talents that keep you alive or free you from control are worth more.
- 2v2 / 3v3: control that chains with a partner (roots, stuns, silences) and talents that help you peel for your healer gain value.
- Check the enemy team during preparation and adjust a row if needed. That is exactly why talent changes are allowed before the gates open.
Plan a build
Use the talent calculator to click through any spec’s tree and share the build as a link. Each class page also lists every talent with its in-game description.
Recommended builds per spec: to be added once there is enough match experience.
How many talents can I pick in Arena of Champions?
Five: one from each of five rows of three. Rows 1 to 4 are passive bonuses; row 5 teaches a new spell for your bar.
Can I change talents between matches?
Yes, any time in town with Spells & Talents (N), and in the arena while the gates are still closed. Changing a talent in the arena resets your hero (buffs, cooldowns, health and resource).
